Bantry Bay Accommodation
Bantry Bay Accommodation
As its name signifies, Bantry Bay lies perched on the rocks overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in one of the most exclusive bays on the Atlantic Seaboard. Crashing waves, magnificent sunsets and protection from the wind make Bantry Bay much sought after and, because of its position, an ideal base from which to explore Cape Town. Bantry Bay lies just outside the vibey suburb of Sea Point and, although it doesn’t have a beach of its own, you can reach the beaches of Clifton on foot or Saunders Rocks at Sea Point has a little tidal pool. Bantry Bay hugs the slopes of Lion’s Head and the very contemporary apartments that line the Bantry Bay sea front are as close to the ocean as you can get.Bantry Bay is within easy reach of Table Mountain and the cableway, the V&A Waterfront and the city bowl are only 5 minutes away and the suburb has its own deli. For other restaurants and shops head off to Sea Point - the promenade here is great for evening strolls or early morning ambles - or Camps Bay.
Launched in December 2006, Salt restaurant is the latest innovation of the Ambassador Hotel, it has floor-to-ceiling windows commanding 180 degree views over the Atlantic ocean, making it reason enough to visit the restaurant which has had a meteoric rise to popularity, but it is largely for the food that loyal diners return again and again and for small reason: simplicity, fresh ingredients which allow the food to speak for itself as well as an innovative menu are the ingredients to this chic restaurant’s success.
The Islands Restaurant at the President Hotel serves a sumptuous buffet breakfast, a la carte lunch and a la carte & buffet dinners. From Jazz to Classical and popular music, they all find a home at The Islands Restaurant and coupled with various themed buffets, they create an adventurous ambience that many diners seek.
